In addition to bridges and gateways, HMS Industrial Networks also offers four Ixxat repeaters that support both the CAN standard and the CAN FD standard. This means that the devices can be used flexibly in both existing and new systems. The use of the repeaters enables the realization of stub lines as well as the effective networking of CAN and CAN FD components using tree and star topologies. No configuration is required, which simplifies use and commissioning. The CAN repeaters are available in two- and four-channel versions (CAN-CR100 and CAN-CR300) for networking via copper cable and in a version with copper and fiber optic connection (CAN-CR110/FO). All repeaters have galvanic isolation of 1 kV or 3 kV for the CAN-CR120/HV variant. The fiber optic version can be used to bridge distances with high electromagnetic interference and in applications with very high requirements for galvanic isolation. The repeaters have a slim plastic housing for top-hat rail mounting. The CAN connections of the repeater series are made using screw terminals.
