With model variants for Fast Ethernet, Gigabit and PoE and equipped with 5 to 24 ports, they ensure a high degree of flexibility. The devices support a combination of ring and line redundancy, whereby several Ethernet switches are linked in a line network. By configuring the head and tail switches - at the outer ends of the chain - both ends of the chain are integrated into the network. With the ring and line redundancy method, administrators can create redundant topologies in each network segment.

If a network segment fails, the network restores itself in just 30 ms for up to 250 switches by activating a back-up path. To ensure smooth operation even in the event of a fault, there is an external backup and restore module that is used to save the configuration of the device. According to Weidmüller, the switches are equipped with a variety of combinable interfaces - copper or fiber optic - depending on the version.
The switches are available in 'Full Managed' and 'Lite Managed' versions.
