Stemmer Imaging takes over Infaimon Group
Image processing provider Stemmer Imaging continues its international growth course and acquires Infaimon S.L., a Spanish company specializing in software and hardware for industrial image processing and robotics.
Infaimon, headquartered in Barcelona and with subsidiaries in Portugal, Mexico and Brazil, is a provider of image processing and image analysis methods and their application in sought-after subsystems. In particular, the company has many years of expertise in bin-picking applications. The subsystems are used in the automation of production and logistics processes, among other things. Here, for example, industrial robots pick up a prepared raw part from a production line and place it at the next processing location for further processing.
"With the acquisition of Infaimon, we are now represented in almost all major European markets," says Arne Dehn, CEO of Stemmer Imaging. He continues: "The Infaimon sites in Brazil and Mexico will open up opportunities for us to penetrate other regions such as the USA."
As part of the agreement, Stemmer Imaging is paying a low double-digit million euro amount to acquire 100% of the shares in the group. The Stemmer Management Board expects the acquisition to contribute around EUR 18 million in additional revenue and around EUR 3 million to EBITDA in the 2019/2020 financial year. Consolidation is planned from July 1, 2019, subject to antitrust approvals.
