High sales growth in the 2022 financial year

In 2022, the Basler Group achieved sales growth of 27 % in a very dynamic market environment and thus set a new sales record.

Sales rose to EUR 272.2 million (previous year: EUR 214.7 million), despite significant bottlenecks in semiconductor components, particularly in the first half of the year. However, market demand cooled over the course of the financial year, particularly in Asia and America. As a result, incoming orders fell by 23% compared to the very strong previous year to EUR 248.4 million (previous year: EUR 322.5 million). Pre-tax earnings rose only slightly to EUR 28.3 million (previous year: EUR 28.0 million) due to the strong future-oriented organizational structure and the temporary increase in material costs due to necessary broker sourcing during the chip crisis. The pre-tax return amounted to 10.4 % (previous year: 13.0 %).

With these results, Basler meets its forecast of sales between EUR 262 million and EUR 270 million with an EBT return of between 10 % and 12 % for the 2022 financial year.

Cautious outlook

Weak incoming orders in Asia and the USA in the first three months of this year have made the management cautious about the course of 2023. Against this background and due to the currently weak economic forecasts for 2023, the company expects a year of transition with ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. Based on current information, Basler plans to achieve sales of between EUR 235 million and EUR 265 million in the 2023 financial year.
