Federal Chancellor praises research into artificial intelligence
During a visit to DFKI, Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) for Germany as a business location.
"I am very grateful to be here and very impressed," he said after a visit to the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI) in Kaiserslautern on Friday (March 18, 2022). After all, it is "important to know that Germany is one of the countries at the forefront of artificial intelligence " when it comes to scientific penetration and technological expertise.
At the DFKI, Scholz - accompanied by the Minister President of Rhineland-Palatinate, Malu Dreyer (SPD) - learned about AI as an assistant to humans, among other things. He summarized: "An impressive visit and a great opportunity for insights and for a little pride because it is here in our country."
The Federal Chancellor then wanted to visit the West Palatinate Police Headquarters in Kaiserslautern to talk to young police officers and sign the condolence books for two of their colleagues who had been killed. A police trainee (24) and a police inspector (29) were shot dead at the end of January during a vehicle stop near Kusel.
