Weidmüller, Enercity and Wallbe form alliance

Weidmüller Mobility Concepts, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Weidmüller Group, has acquired a 25.1% stake in Paderborn-based Wallbe GmbH from Hanover-based Enercity AG. Wallbe is a full-service provider of e-mobility charging solutions.

Wallbe manufactures charging stations for electric vehicles, offers cloud-based operating services and develops intelligent payment and billing functions. The Paderborn-based company began as a start-up a few years ago, employs around 50 people and generated revenue of EUR 5.2 million in 2018. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

The Hanover-based Enercity Group is a provider of intelligent energy solutions with more than 2,800 employees. With a turnover of around 2.4 billion euros, the Group is one of the largest municipal energy service providers in Germany.
