Sensor-Technik Wiedemann cooperates with ElringKlinger

Sensor-Technik Wiedemann (STW) is working with ElringKlinger on the development and production of lithium-ion battery modules and systems. The first products can be seen at the Hannover Messe 2016.

The main aim of the cooperation is to pool the expertise of both companies. This includes highly automated production, signal and high-voltage contacting technology, precision measurement technology for voltages, temperatures and currents. There is also development expertise in accordance with automotive standards and for functionally safe control systems. There is also know-how in the areas of software development, battery management systems, cooling and housings.

The first products of the two partners are battery modules with optional cooling and integrated electronic cell monitoring in the 24 and 48 volt voltage ranges as well as in series connection up to 1,000 volts. In addition, ElringKlinger is currently developing a standardized battery module kit consisting of battery modules including a battery management system from STW 's mBMS family. There are also plans to manufacture standardized battery systems for voltage ranges from 24 to 1,000 volts. All products are manufactured in accordance with automotive industry standards. The products are used in stationary storage systems, industrial trucks, electrified road and commercial vehicles and mobile machinery. They are also used in maritime applications and e-scooters.

Both companies will be showcasing their products at the Hannover Messe 2016: In Hall 27 - "Generation, Storage and Mobility" - visitors can find out more at ElringKlinger's stand F60. STW has its stand under the number C16 in Hall 13.
