Isolated standby voltage option
A series of AC/DC embedded switching power supplies (SMPS) from TDK-Lambda is available from RS Components.
The RWS-B series of AC/DC industrial power supplies comprises ten models, each equipped with an isolated 5 V/1 A standby voltage option. The additional isolated 5 V standby voltage is available even when the main output is disabled or in an overvoltage or overcurrent condition. This low power output can serve as an additional power supply for basic functions during an energy-saving sleep state or during an overload condition.
The series offers an output power of 1000 W (RWS1000-B) or 1500 W (RWS1500-B), a universal input range of 85 to 265 V(AC) and includes devices with DC outputs of 12, 15, 24, 36 and 48 V. Other features include remote on/off switching, current sharing and airflow reversal, which can extend operation in ambient temperatures up to +70 °C. The dimensions of the power supply units are 127 mm × 63 mm with a height of 198 mm and 261 mm for the 1000 W and 1500 W models respectively. According to RS Components, all devices are certified in accordance with the IEC/EN/UL 60950-1 safety standards.
