Trade fair opens its doors
embedded world starts today
Thanks to the highest health and hygiene standards, embedded world will take place as planned. NürnbergMesse has once again increased the safety measures. The exhibitors are also standing by their industry event.
"We are delighted that the world of the embedded industry is meeting again in Nuremberg" - this is how the CEOs of NürnbergMesse, Dr. Roland Fleck and Peter Ottmann, sum up the mood of many exhibitors one week before the start of embedded world. After all, the world's leading international trade fair for embedded systems is the relevant meeting place for embedded companies, from components, modules and complete systems to operating systems, hardware, software and services.
Nevertheless, Dr. Roland Fleck understands the questions from some exhibitors about the coronavirus and emphasizes: "This year, we have already successfully completed three leading international trade fairs with over 150,000 exhibitors and visitors without any health restrictions. Our visitors can therefore look forward to highly professional conditions and valuable experience at embedded world." And the registrations of over 1000 exhibitors prove that embedded world will once again be the central meeting place for the industry in 2020, emphasizes Fleck's CEO colleague Peter Ottmann: "Trade fairs are always a reflection of the economy. Of course, we regret that some customers have canceled at short notice due to the coronavirus. Precisely because the health of our employees and our customers is our top priority, we have carefully weighed up the various aspects and have come to the conclusion after consulting the health authorities: embedded world will open its doors on Tuesday next week as planned."
The recent cancellation of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona has unsettled many companies, which is why it is important to note, in the words of Philip Harting, Chairman of the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA): "All trade fairs will take place in Germany as planned." The prerequisite for this is a large bundle of professional measures that have been defined in consultation with the German health authorities. These include
- Increased cleaning and disinfection precautions in all high-traffic areas, e.g. catering areas, surfaces, handrails, WCs, entrances and exits, public touchscreens.
- Significantly increased availability of disinfectant materials.
- Awareness campaigns ("no-handshake policy") and information on where to go in case of suspicion.
- Sensitization and training of all staff with regard to standard personal preventive measures, e.g. personal hygiene, frequency of use of disinfectant products.
- Qualified doctors and paramedics in our first-aid stations are prepared for possible suspected cases and are available on site - supported by interpreters - to answer any questions.
- Should a suspected case occur during the exhibition or event, all spatial and organizational precautions have been taken on the exhibition grounds and in Nuremberg itself to take immediate remedial action.
There is also confidence and anticipation among the exhibitors. SSV Software Systems explains: "We have never been absent as an exhibitor from embedded world in Nuremberg before. That won't change this year either due to the coronavirus!".
MVTec Software also confirms its participation in embedded world with its stand and activities in the trade fair's supporting program: A presentation will be given at the embedded world Conference as well as at the embedded world exhibitor forum.
