High energy efficiency
The ecological footprint of LED lighting is primarily determined by three factors: Efficiency, service life and recyclability.
The power supply for the lighting unit is of crucial importance here, as converting the primary energy into light with as little loss as possible not only helps to save energy, less waste heat also reduces the thermal load on all components. One example of a sustainable LED power supply is the PSU-0254-07 4-channel LED driver from Inpotron. With an overall efficiency of 90%, this 80-watt power supply unit has the highest energy efficiency in this power class worldwide, according to the supplier.
Its standby energy consumption is less than 0.5 W. Each channel of the AC/DC converter is a separate power source. The output currents can be preset in six stages or controlled individually via DALI. As no intermediate circuit electrolytic capacitors are installed, as many of these LED drivers can be connected to a circuit breaker until its maximum current limit is reached.
