Schurter Group

Günter Herkommer,

Bottom reached, but not yet reached

After a difficult year in 2015, the Schurter Group can once again report sales growth for 2016. This means that the Lucerne-based family business has at least bottomed out and is looking positively to the future.

The Schurter Group is a Swiss family business with a total of 22 subsidiaries.

Specifically, the Schurter Group was able to increase sales by 3.5 % to CHF 198.2 million in 2016. This was despite the negative impact of the strong Swiss franc, which the company continued to struggle with. The "Input Systems" division grew by 6 % to CHF 69.4 million, while the "Components" division increased by 2.3 % to CHF 128.8 million. The extraordinary development of the "Solutions" division, which grew by 52%, contributed significantly to this. "Solutions" combines the globally available expertise of the individual subsidiaries to create customized overall solutions.

At the beginning of this year, the Schurter Group also strengthened its position further: the Austrian company Burisch Elektronik Bauteile, headquartered in Vienna, and the Czech company aki electronic, a manufacturer of keyboards, touch panels and HMI systems, joined the group.
