With the acquisition and integration of Aki Electronic into the Input Systems division, the Schurter Group intends to drive forward its geographical expansion into Eastern Europe and strengthen the DACH market for input systems. The acquisition is also intended to increase know-how and production capacity.

Aki Electronic, based in Jihlava/CZ, has been producing input systems for control and automation technology as well as for laboratory and medical devices with around 200 employees since 1992. Schurter sees the advantage of the Czech Republic as a production location - with a high level of quality awareness and attractive production costs. The Czech manufacturer is active in the core market of Germany/Austria as well as in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Last year, aki electronic achieved a consolidated turnover of around EUR 9 million.

The Schurter Group, which operates in the electronics industry and is headquartered in Lucerne (Switzerland), employs around 1,850 people worldwide. In 2015, it generated consolidated sales of 191.4 million Swiss francs with its Components and Input Systems divisions.
