Schurter takes over Burisch

The Swiss Schurter Holding is taking over the Austrian company Burisch Elektronik Bauteile GmbH, headquartered in Vienna, as of January 1, 2017. Founded in Innsbruck in 1949, the company has been a representative for Schurter products in Austria since 1961.

Burisch is a private distribution and consulting company for electronic and electromechanical components and has a certified cable assembly facility. With its subsidiaries in Hungary, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, the company employs around 90 people. In 2015, consolidated annual sales amounted to around EUR 20 million.

According to Schurter, the integration of Burisch will not only result in an increase in expertise for all divisions of the Schurter Group, but also improved prospects in the Austrian, Hungarian, Czech and Slovakian markets. The expansion to the east will enable better support for existing customers and the acquisition of new customers thanks to a well-established local team and a significantly expanded network. Burisch will continue to operate in Austria under the well-known and established name.

The Schurter Group, which operates in the electronics industry and is headquartered in Lucerne, now employs around 1,850 people worldwide and generated consolidated sales of CHF 191.4 million in 2015 with its Components and Input Systems divisions.
