Digital value creation - virtual commissioning as an enabler
VIBN is now an established phase of the engineering process for leading suppliers of automation solutions. The benefits of VIBN can also be seen financially as a short-term ROI based on "best practice" implementations.
The prerequisite for this is that the entire value creation process is taken into account. The continued use of the digital twins created for the VIBN for the optimization of production, innovative service concepts and platforms for the qualification of personnel leads to new value-adding business models.
These strategic aspects are currently being developed by the VDMA with the participation of industry experts as practice-oriented guidelines for the VIBN. The aim is to significantly facilitate the entry of companies into digital value creation, including VIBN. The availability of a digital twin as a platform for digital value creation will become a decisive competitive advantage for component manufacturers and plant and machine manufacturers as well as for plant operators and in the service sector.
Dr. Christian Daniel, Business Manager simulation technology, Consulting at ISG Industrial Control Technology, welcomes you to the presentation on "Digital value creation - Virtual commissioning (VIBN) as an enabler".
Date: November 24, SPS Connect November 24 - 1:50 - 2:10 p.m.
About Dr. Christian Daniel
Dr. Christian Daniel has been implementing innovative processes in the field of product development and production for over 30 years in leading positions in plant and mechanical engineering.
He studied electrical engineering at the University of Stuttgart and completed his doctorate at the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Production Facilities (ISW) on the subject of "Dynamic configuration of control software for open systems". From 1993 to 1996, he was head of the control technology department at ISW and managing director of FISW GmbH.
He then became head of the "Technology" department and authorized signatory at C. Haushahn GmbH in elevator construction, where he was responsible for innovation management, among other things.
From 1999, he was deputy managing director of all technical divisions at Bystronic Lenhardt GmbH. In this context, he introduced simulation systems in engineering and production and implemented configurable platform concepts for systems for the production and finishing of insulating glass.
Since 2013, he has been contributing his many years of industrial experience as Business Manager in the field of simulation technology for users of the ISG-virtuos simulation system from ISG Industriellen Steuerungstechnik.
He is also actively involved in the VDMA's "Simulation and Visualization" working group and a member of the project advisory board for the development of a practice-oriented guide for virtual commissioning.
