MathWorks has introduced the 2020b release of the 'Matlab' and 'Simulink' product families. New features in 'Matlab' simplify work with graphics and apps. 'Simulink' updates focus on enhanced access and speed, including the introduction of 'Simulink Online' for browser access. 'R2020b' also introduces products that build on artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, accelerate the development of autonomous systems and speed up the creation of 3D scenes for automated driving simulations. Among the hundreds of new and updated features, 'Matlab' offers new bubble and swarm diagrams, the ability to run diffs and merges of app designer applications with the Comparison Tool, and custom figure icons and components for 'Matlab' apps. In addition to 'Simulink Online' for viewing, editing and simulating 'Simulink' models via the web browser, 'R2020b' offers the ability to generate code for referenced model hierarchies in 'Simulink' up to twice as fast. In addition, it includes new automerge functions to automate continuous integration workflows.
