Rigid shaft coupling with overload protection

KBK combines a rigid shaft coupling with a safety coupling in its second "Hero" coupling combination 'THH'.

For the 'THH',KBK Antriebstechnik combines its KBST-G rigid shaft coupling with an overload clutch from the KBK/LK series. With this development, the company is responding to user requests for a rigid shaft coupling in combination with an overload coupling. Until now, manufacturers of mixers and agitators, for example, have had to fit the rigid shaft couplings with their own overload protection. Conventional mechanical torque limiters were not suitable for these applications, as mixers and agitators do not have a second bearing point. The THH, on the other hand, does not require a second bearing and can be installed as a free-floating unit.

The new rigid shaft coupling separates the input and output lines from each other within just 2 ms to 5 ms in the event of an overload thanks to the integrated degressive disk spring. It is available with overload protection ranges from 3 to 500 Nm and bore diameters from 6 to 70 mm.
