Nord Drivesystems' 'Nordac On' is an inverter specially developed for the requirements of horizontal conveyor technology in the warehouse sector and for interaction with the new IE5+ synchronous motor.
The 'Nordac On' is a compact, smart inverter for decentralized use. It is mounted directly on the drive housing and covers smaller power ranges up to 1.0 kW. Two variants are planned, each with three sizes: While the 'Nordac On' has been designed for operation with asynchronous motors, the 'Nordac On+' is intended for combination with synchronous motors and complements the Nord Drivesystems portfolio around the new IE5+ motor generation. Both inverter variants have an integrated Ethernet interface. The desired protocol - Profinet, Ethernet IP or Ethercat - can be set via parameters.
The inverter has been specially adapted to the target applications of horizontal conveyor technology. The standardization covers all typical industry requirements. All connections are pluggable and ensure fast, uncomplicated and error-minimizing commissioning and maintenance on site. The equipment includes a diagnostic interface, four digital inputs and an additional protocol-based and therefore less error-prone encoder interface for the 'Nordac On+'. The nsd tupH surface finish, functional safety (STO) and internal braking resistors for dynamic start-stop processes are available as options. If motor mounting of the inverter is not desired or possible, there is also the alternative of wall mounting to connect the inverter close to the drive.
The inverter has a PLC for drive-related functions. This can process the data from connected sensors and actuators, initiate sequence controls autonomously and transmit the drive and application data to the control station, networked components or an existing cloud. This enables continuous condition monitoring and thus lays the foundation for predictive maintenance concepts and optimized system dimensioning.
