Planetary screw drive for higher performance

Thanks to a new intermediate size of planetary screw drive from Bosch Rexroth, double the linear travel speed and cycle time can be achieved at the same speed.

Bosch Rexroth is expanding its portfolio of PLSA planetary screw drives with the intermediate size 48x20. Compared to the next smallest size, power-intensive applications can achieve up to twice the travel speed, performance and productivity at the same speed and with less heat generation.

Presses and dosing units, for example, benefit from the increase in performance and productivity. Thanks to the higher pitch, the same speed level can be achieved at lower speeds. As a result, less heat is generated, which in turn increases accuracy and process stability. As the load ratings also increase with the size, users also benefit from a longer service life compared to smaller lead sizes, according to the manufacturer. The PLSA planetary screw drives are designed for high loads and speeds of up to 50 m/min. They achieve dynamic load ratings of up to 544 kN.
