New appointments to management positions
Schneider Electric has appointed Barbara Frei as the new Executive Vice President of the global Industrial Automation business unit. With immediate effect, the manager will take over the position from Peter Herweck, who was appointed CEO of Aveva on May 1.

© Schneider ElectricAfter serving as Executive Vice President Europe Operations at Schneider Electric since 2019, Barbara Frei will remain a member of the Executive Committee. Based in Zurich, she will report directly to Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman & CEO of Schneider Electric.
Frei joined Schneider Electric in 2016 as Country President Germany and expanded her responsibilities as Zone President DACH the following year. She began her career as a development project manager for motors and drives at ABB Switzerland and subsequently held various management positions within the ABB Group, including regional responsibility as Country Manager for the Czech Republic and Regional Manager for the Mediterranean region in Italy.
Christel Heydemann is the new Executive Vice President Europe Operations at Schneider Electric. Like Barbara Frei, the new Head of Europe, who previously held the position of Executive Vice President France Operations, will retain her role as a member of the company's Executive Committee. The manager will continue to represent Schneider Electric in dealings with the EU institutions.
Heydemann joined Schneider Electric in 2014 as Vice President of Strategic Alliances and expanded her role to Corporate Strategy & Alliances, Senior Vice President in 2016. A year later, she was promoted to Executive Vice President France Operations and member of the Executive Committee. Prior to joining Schneider Electric, Christel Heydemann worked at the Boston Consulting Group and held various management positions at Alcatel-Lucent.
