Halstrup-Walcher
Flexible thanks to software modules
Halstrup-Walcher has expanded the PSD direct drives with IO-Link to include software modules that allow the drives to be controlled faster and more flexibly or used more effectively for applications such as tool changers or conveyor belts.
The 'Set changeover' software module from Halstrup-Walcher allows users to directly activate up to four different parameter sets via two bits in the process data. These four sets each contain 13 parameter values that influence the drive behavior (e.g. set speed, acceleration, traction current).
With the 'Set speed in process data' function, any set speed can be transferred, while one of four speeds previously defined in the parameter sets is selected when the set is switched. The 'Modulo function' offers advantages if drives are always to be operated in the same direction of rotation, as can be useful for tool changers or conveyor belts. In modulo mode, the travel path is not limited. Users can define a specific travel path as a so-called modulo width in the software by specifying a lower and an upper modulo position as end positions.
