Wittenstein as part of the ctrlX World
Apps for the smart gearbox
Wittenstein is now offering apps for smart gearboxes via ctrlX World, the ecosystem around the automation platform ctrlX Automation from Bosch Rexroth.
Bosch Rexroth is building an ecosystem around its automation platform ctrlX Automation that also allows third-party applications. Wittenstein is part of the ecosystem called ctrlX World and uses it to provide its apps for its smart gearbox cynapse. According to the company, ctrlX Automation supports the openness of cynapse and enables the simple integration of corresponding applications. Users can thus integrate Wittenstein's smart services into their system solution.
The drive specialist Wittenstein offers smart gearboxes as standard. These have an integrated sensor module that enables Industry 4.0 connectivity. This solution can also be combined with Smart Services: These software applications enable, among other things, the combined analysis of machine and sensor data to detect potential failures much earlier than is the case with conventional condition monitoring solutions.
Functions can be downloaded in the form of apps via the open automation platform and its partner world ctrlX World. In addition to apps from Bosch Rexroth, users can also use third-party applications or apps they have created themselves. ctrlX Automation provides all the building blocks for complete automation solutions. The platform offers an open software architecture, a complete hardware portfolio and IoT, security and safety functions. This means that the system can be expanded at any time to include applications as well as hardware and software from third-party providers.
