Products of the year 2023
Drive technology - The winners
In the drive technology category, the winners impressed with their energy efficiency, integrated torque sensor and safety functions, among other things.
3rd place: KEB Automation - Drive Controller 'Combivert F6' and 'Servo Drives S6' with integrated safety functions
© KEB Automation3rd place - KEB
The 'Combivert F6' and 'Servo Drives S6' drive controllers from KEB Automation offer integrated safety functions directly in the drive. In the 'Application' device variant, Ethernet-based bus systems can be switched via software, thus enabling a flexible fieldbus connection to the higher-level control level, for example via Profinet. Communication via the safe Profisafe fieldbus protocol has now been integrated and certified in the devices. More...
Tobias Wenneker, Product Manager Drives at KEB Automation, explains the advantages of a drive system "Made in Germany". Users can look forward to high-speed versions in the coming months.
2nd place in the drive technology category
2nd place - Schaeffler
With the RT1,Schaeffler is launching a high-torque precision shaft gearbox for robotics onto the market, with which particularly compact articulated arms for above-average loads can be realized due to the high torque density. Their backlash-free and wear-resistant gearing enables high positioning accuracy over the entire service life of the gearbox. They are also optionally available with an integrated torque sensor as RT1-T. More...
Nicolai Hämmerle, Vice President Business Field Robotics at Schaeffler Industries, is delighted with second place. The gearboxes are used in robots. The high rigidity is particularly appreciated here. In the interview, Mr. Hämmerle gives an outlook on further developments that will be presented at Automatica 2023 in Munich in June.
1st place in the drive technology category
1st place - SEW-Eurodrive
With the DR2C.. series, SEW-Eurodrive is expanding its portfolio to include synchronous motors for pure inverter operation. The new motors comply with efficiency class IE5. The switch from line-commutated motors or line motors operated on the inverter to motors developed for pure inverter operation offers significant potential for more efficient energy use. The company emphasizes that the design as a synchronous motor means that the speeds are not load-dependent. More...
SEW-Eurodrive was able to impress with the 'DR2C...' synchronous motor. For the first time, the size of a motor has been reduced or kept stable despite a higher efficiency class. Gregor Dietz, Market Manager Motors, Dr. Hans Krattenmacher, Managing Director Mechatronics, Heiko Füller, Head of Market Management, and Patrik Menges, Head of Sales Germany, explain the advantages for users in an interview.
