Björn Rosengren becomes new CEO

The Board of Directors of ABB has unanimously appointed Björn Rosengren as Chief Executive Officer. He will join ABB on February 1, 2020 and succeed CEO Peter Voser in this role on March 1, 2020.

Björn Rosengren knows how to build successful decentralized organizations and empower people and teams. He also stands for a culture of cooperation and performance.

Björn Rosengren (60) is a Swedish citizen with extensive international experience in managing industrial companies. He has been CEO of Sandvik, a global high-tech company, since 2015. During this time, he has successfully implemented a decentralized corporate structure while further improving Sandvik's profitability and financial strength. Previously, he was CEO of Wärtsilä Corporation, a company that manufactures and services power generation systems and other equipment for the marine and energy markets (2011-2015). He also held various management positions at Atlas Copco for thirteen years (1998-2011).

Peter Voser will return to ABB exclusively as Chairman of the Board of Directors from March 2020.
