Tinder for the job search

Digital application documents are now standard at many companies. But some even go one step further: they match with their candidates via an app.

Found a job? Employers and employees can meet quickly via the app.

Finding a partner and a job can be difficult. New internet technology aims to make both easier. "We thought the time was ripe to make job hunting easier with a sophisticated matching technology and intuitive interface," explains Truffls founder Clemens Dittrich. "What's more, until now there hasn't been an app that offers a well thought-out mobile solution," emphasizes co-founder Matthes Dohmeyer. "With Truffls, everyone has the opportunity to find their dream job, even on the subway." Engineers too?

The editorial team tried it out: After downloading, the user has to select a field of activity: Engineers and technical professions suits us and off you go. Daimler, Arburg and many engineering service providers offer job vacancies. One click to the right, one click to the left and we are taken to new offers or we can match and then even chat with the provider. But what is behind this simple mechanism?

The user logs in with their Xing or LinkedIn profile. Truffls then evaluates the data stored there fully automatically and immediately provides suitable job offers. If the user now swipes the displayed advertisement to the left out of the screen, they reject the proposed job and receive a new offer that is even more suitable thanks to the adaptive algorithm. A swipe to the right, on the other hand, means that the user is generally interested in the job advertisement. "The company now receives the anonymous short profile of the job seeker and decides whether it is also interested," explains Dohmeyer. If so, the job seeker receives a notification, knows that they have a good chance and can now send their application in a targeted manner. The company only now sees the stored Xing or LinkedIn profile.

App for hidden champions?

The app developers' promise: HR departments can use Truffls to reach the previously hard-to-reach target group of passive job seekers. "After all, good people - or those who are latently dissatisfied with their job - are always looking for a job. Just not aggressively on online job boards," says Dittrich. Another advantage for companies is that they only deal with candidates who are a good fit for the position and have already indicated an interest in the job advertisement. The handling of truffls is kept simple for recruiters: A job offer is online with just a few clicks.

The truffls team also hopes that the app will make the hidden champions - including those from the electronics industry - more visible to graduates. The founders are satisfied with the response from companies so far: "We have more than 30,000 daily job ads on the platform, and dozens of companies are interested," says Dittrich.
