Digitalization versus skills shortage
A VDI survey shows: Germany is well positioned for Industry 4.0, but digital business models are lacking. This is also due to a significant shortage of IT specialists, which SMEs in particular can do little to counteract.
For many companies, digital transformation is now a top priority, but there is a problem with implementation. The problem is not digital technologies and processes, but the design and implementation of suitable business models. This is the conclusion of a recent VDI survey in which 630 IT specialists from German companies took part:
