Trade fair takes place in real, virtual and hybrid form

The next Sensor+Test will take place in Nuremberg from May 4 to 6, 2021 - as a hybrid exhibition with a new 'Digital Area'.

"The upcoming event promises to be of a high quality again, even if we as organizers will certainly have to assume a somewhat more compact presence trade fair due to Corona," says Holger Bödeker, Managing Director of AMA Service GmbH and organizer of the trade fair. It remains to be seen whether international visitors will be allowed to visit Germany in May 2021. "We will therefore adapt Sensor+Test to the current circumstances and ensure that both exhibitors and visitors can look back on three days of the trade fair with satisfaction and find a permanently available, modern platform for exchange," Bödeker continues. The basis for this is provided by a three-part concept that extends the face-to-face event into the digital world:

As far as the supporting program is concerned, the special topic 'Sensors and measurement technology for condition monitoring' planned for 2020 will take place a year late. The organizers and exhibitor advisory board have jointly agreed to this. The second highlight is the presence and digital premiere of the SMSI - Sensor and Measurement Science International Conference, which will begin on the day before Sensor+Test and will be opened together with the presentation of the AMA Innovation Award.

Overall, the 'hybrid' concept means that, on the one hand, the personal contact that is essential for exhibitors and visitors will take place in real life on the exhibition grounds. On the other hand, there will be year-round, continuous digital communication between exhibitors and visitors, which has already begun in 2020. This will give all trade fair participants, whether in person on site or digitally online, the opportunity to interact with each other across the board.

Exhibitors automatically take part in the digital trade fair when they book their stand. This means that both visitors in Nuremberg and digital participants can reach exhibitors worldwide. In addition, the companies' digital presence will be available to visitors until the end of 2021. The offer is rounded off by the 'Digital Area': Here, companies can present themselves in a variety of ways - via multimedia presentations of new products, chats and video chats with trade fair visitors or via lectures and discussion rounds.
