The Baumer Group is one of the world's leading specialists for high-performance sensors and sensor systems in industrial automation. A uniquely broad product portfolio, precise measurements and smart sensor functions enable intelligent solutions for digitalized production. With around 2,800 employees and 39 of its own development centers, production plants and sales offices in 19 countries, the Swiss family-owned company is always close to its customers. As an innovation leader, Baumer has been creating decisive market advantages and measurable added value with consistently high quality standards for over 70 years.

SPS 2025: What can visitors expect at the Baumer stand?

One of the Baumer highlights at SPS 2025: With the OT200, Baumer has developed the most compact time-of-flight sensor, which is characterized by the smallest blind area (<2 mm on ultrasonic black) and the longest range (up to 2 meters) in miniature format. © Baumer

All-rounder with time-of-flight sensor technology: Baumer fully exploits the possibilities of ToF technology to combine high efficiency with outstanding performance. Newly available are the OT200 and OT330 models, which set standards in their respective housing classes. With the OT200, Baumer has developed the most compact time-of-flight sensor, which is characterized by the smallest blind range (<2 mm on ultrasonic black) and the longest range (up to 2 meters) in a miniature format.

High-precision OM60 laser distance sensors
With its exceptional measurement performance in a compact housing, the new OM60 high-performance laser distance sensor raises the bar for precision: maximum ±3 μm linearity deviation and outstanding 0.12 μm repeatability. The very easy-to-use OM60 is the ideal addition to the Baumer portfolio of laser distance sensors with a high-performance model in a compact design.

Ultrasonic sensors with NexSonic technology: With NexSonic, Baumer has developed a measurably better ultrasonic technology. It enables response times of just 10 ms, a minimum blind range (10 mm) and smart filter functions. The ultra-flat UF200 for front mounting, the extremely compact U300 (cubic) and UR12 (cylindrical) as well as the particularly robust U500 (cubic) and UR18 (cylindrical) are based on this pioneering technology.

Revolutionary encoder technology for drive control: The compact, bearingless EB260 encoder combines the precision of optical scanning with the robustness and efficiency of magnetic systems. Baumer LowHarmonics signal processing with auto-calibration eliminates signal errors caused by ageing and mechanical factors, thus ensuring maximum precision and control quality.

Future-proof encoders for functional safety: With the safety-certified absolute encoder EAM580RS, Baumer already meets the future mandatory safety requirements of the latest safety product standard for encoders IEC 61800-5-3:202 (SIL2 according to IEC 61800-5-3:2021, IEC 61508, as well as PLd according to ISO 13849:2023). The safety certificate issued by TÜV Rheinland for the robust magnetic encoder reduces the effort required for documentation and integration.

Process sensors of the 50 series - unique in their class: With the 50 series, Baumer brings the performance of the proven Combi series into an even more compact housing. The space-saving sensors impress with their performance in pressure, temperature and conductivity measurement as well as the standardized operating concept with touch display. Users benefit from excellent process visualization and simple commissioning.

Exploiting the full potential of IO-Link with Baumer: Baumer will be demonstrating at SPS why the company is the first port of call for IO-Link sensor solutions. The motto: The entire system from sensor to controller from a single source. In the sensor workshop, anyone can pick up a cable and connect and test sensors with IO-Link masters and a laptop in just a few simple steps.
