Phoenix Contact invests in Eologix

At the end of March, Phoenix Contact Innovation Ventures acquired a stake in Eologix Sensor Technology. The six-figure investment is intended to accelerate the company's expansion.

Eologix Sensor Technology, based in Graz, Austria, is a provider of sensor systems for detecting ice on surfaces, particularly on wind turbines. The systems consist of flexible, wireless sensors that are attached to the rotor blades and precisely detect the formation of ice. The recorded measurement data is transmitted by radio to the control system, which can then initiate de-icing measures. This minimizes the downtime of the wind turbines.

Now that the three founders have acquired their first customers and projects, they want the company to continue growing at a rapid pace. The next strategic steps are now to be taken together with Phoenix Contact. In addition to the investment, the Phoenix Contact Group's sales network also offers operational support in developing the market.
