Condition monitoring
Weidmüller takes over Bosch Rexroth Monitoring Systems
The Weidmüller Group intends to acquire Monitoring Systems GmbH from Bosch Rexroth. The latter manufactures and sells systems for monitoring the condition of wind turbines.
Bosch Rexroth Monitoring Systems GmbH is based in Dresden and currently employs around 25 people. The condition monitoring systems for wind turbines manufactured there monitor the condition of the rotor blades in particular and offer the option of diagnosing ice build-up on the rotor blades, among other things. In the 2015 financial year, the company generated sales of EUR 3.8 million and supplied wind turbine manufacturers in Europe in particular. The solutions available on the market from Bosch Rexroth Monitoring Systems GmbH are primarily known under the BladeControl brand.
The Weidmüller Group intends to strengthen its activities in the wind sector with the acquisition of the company, which will operate on the market under the name Weidmüller Monitoring Systems GmbH. In addition, the Weidmüller Group's portfolio of solutions for condition monitoring technologies is to be expanded. "As a complementary addition, our new family member has all the prerequisites for future growth," explained Dr. Peter Köhler, CEO of the Weidmüller Group, at the signing of the contract.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The takeover is still subject to merger control approvals.
