Megatron
More precise force measurements
The force sensors of the 'KT705' and 'KT805' series from Megatron have been equipped with analog electronics. This means that the force transducers also provide a negative output voltage or indicate when they are actuated in the opposite direction to the intended force.
The integrated analog amplifier eliminates the need for external electronics. According to Megatron, the sensors are compact and require less space and cabling in the application than sensors with a separate amplifier. The small diameter of the flexible cable (Ø 3.4 mm) also contributes to this. Another new feature is the individual test protocol that is included with each force sensor. Both force sensor series have the same options for the output signals (0 to 10 V / 10 to +10 V / 4 to 20 mA) and the same electronics, but differ in terms of nominal forces, size and material. While the measuring body and housing of the 'KT805' are made of nickel-plated steel, the 'KT705' is made of aluminum. Both force sensors work according to the Wheatstone strain gauge full bridge principle. The 'KT705' measures nominal forces of 200 N, 500 N and 1 kN, while the 'KT805' can measure forces of up to 2 kN and 5 kN.
