Hannover Messe Digital Edition 2021
Hermes Startup Award goes to core sensing
Darmstadt-based company core sensing has won this year's Hermes Startup Award at the Hannover Messe Digital Edition.
With the Hermes Startup Award 2021, the Hermes Award jury, chaired by Prof. Reimund Neugebauer, President of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, is honoring a young company for the development of an outstanding product for the second time.
core sensing is being honored for the coreIN project. This is a robust and reliable force and torque sensor that records and transmits data directly and wirelessly from rotating components, enabling integration into various machine elements and components. CoreIN enables constant monitoring of components, can prevent failures and reduce maintenance costs.
"With the Hannover Messe Digital Edition, we offer young companies in particular an excellent platform to present themselves in the environment of the world's most important industrial trade fair," explains Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe AG. "The success of core sensing shows that it is always worth competing with other companies."
"Start-ups are important catalysts for innovation," adds Prof. Neugebauer. "In the international innovation system, they are among the most effective ways of translating fresh ideas and new research findings into applications at high speed and bringing them to market. I am particularly pleased to award core sensing, a spin-off whose solutions support companies in exploiting the diverse potential of digitalization more comprehensively. coreIN is a real enabler and driver here - and a shining example of how integrated sensor technology promotes the digitalization of production."
The Hermes Startup Award 2021 was presented as part of the Hannover Messe Digital Edition on April 12, 2021.
Every year since 2020, Deutsche Messe has presented the Hermes Startup Award to a company that is no more than five years old and whose product or solution demonstrates a particularly high degree of technological innovation. This year, the award was presented as part of the Hannover Messe Digital Edition. From 2022 onwards, the winner will be honored during the opening ceremony of Hannover Messe.
