CADLM, founded in 1989 and headquartered in France, brings experience in the development of computer-aided design and optimization methods for industrial products and processes. Since 2014, the company has been developing solutions using artificial intelligence and machine learning. Its software platform 'Odyssee' applies both AI and ML to real sensor data and physics-based simulation data to generate accurate, predictive models of a product while making efficient use of computing power. This combination enables simulations of dynamic, multi-physical phenomena - such as vehicle crash and safety analyses - that fully describe and capture product behavior under real-world conditions. Manufacturers can use a digital twin to take advantage of image recognition, predictive simulation and failure prediction beyond the early design phase to effectively address challenges such as downtime, throughput, quality and flexibility throughout the manufacturing process.

"CADLM's expertise and technology in AI strengthens our smart manufacturing solution portfolio. It will enable us to use data from the early design stage to improve product design innovation, manufacturing productivity, product quality and sustainability by reducing material waste," explains Ola Rollén, President and CEO of Hexagon.
CADLM will operate as part of Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence business unit. The acquisition will not have a significant impact on Hexagon's financial results. The closing of the transaction is subject to customary closing conditions.
