Günter Herkommer,

Security moves to the cloud

With 'Internet Protect Pro', Deutsche Telekom has launched a cloud-based security offering. For the user, this means No on-site hardware installation and immediate implementation of updates across the entire network.

The systems for access and security checks, as well as the storage of log data, are hosted in Telekom Cloud data centers in Germany.

The new solution from Deutsche Telekom in collaboration with its partner Zscaler is designed to offer comprehensive protection against threats from the Internet that was previously only possible with complex and expensive on-site solutions. Internet Protect Pro combines security applications for URL filtering, virus protection, malware protection, content-based scanning, threat assessment and protection against unknown malware via a sandbox that executes potentially harmful files in a protected environment in a controlled manner in order to detect malicious code.

If new malware is identified at one of Zscaler's 5000+ customers, the partner immediately updates the parameters accordingly to protect all users across the network.

Internet Protect Pro is primarily aimed at small and medium-sized companies. In addition to the version that can be ordered directly in the Telekom Cloud, individual project solutions are developed with the customer for more than 100 users or special requirements, such as specially requested performance features.
