Schmersal Group expands management

Schmersal appointed Michael Ambros as Managing Director on May 1, 2017. He is responsible for the Administration and Sales & Marketing divisions globally, while Managing Director Michael Mandel is in charge of the technical divisions.

Michael Ambros, who holds a degree in economics, worked for several years in a management position at a leading international management consultancy in the field of corporate finance. By his own account, he has many years of management and professional experience in a wide range of sectors both within and outside Europe, including the USA and Russia. He has managed strategic company acquisitions and operational company optimizations as well as IPOs. In addition, he successfully built up an outsourcing unit in India over several years.

In addition to Michael Ambros and Michael Mandel, the Schmersal management team includes the managing partners, Heinz and Philip Schmersal. Founded in 1945, the company has seven production sites on three continents as well as its own companies and sales partners in over 60 nations. The Schmersal Group employs 1,750 people worldwide and achieved a group turnover of around 215 million euros in 2016.
