Siemens has appointed Markus Grabmeier as CEO of the Electrical Products (EP) business unit at Smart Infrastructure as of June 1, 2026. He succeeds Andreas Matthé, who has led the business since 2010 and will retire at the end of September 2026.
Siemens has appointed Markus Grabmeier as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Electrical Products (EP) business unit within Siemens Smart Infrastructure with effect from June 1, 2026. He succeeds Andreas Matthé, who, according to Siemens, will continue to support the company in an advisory capacity until his retirement at the end of September 2026.
Matthé worked for Siemens for more than 40 years. His previous positions included management positions in South Africa and China. Since October 2010, he has headed the Electrical Products division and its predecessor organization.
Grabmeier has many years of experience in the electrical engineering sector. Most recently, he was a member of the Executive Management Committee of the Saudi Arabian company Alfanar in Riyadh. Before that, he worked for Siemens for almost 14 years. His career in the Group began in the Management Consulting division, after which he took on various management roles in the Low Voltage and Electrical Products divisions.
His previous roles have included Head of New Business Development, General Manager of Siemens Electrical Apparatus Ltd. in Suzhou, China, and Head of Global Manufacturing. From 2020 to 2023, he was Executive Vice President at Siemens Electrical Products in Shanghai, where he was responsible for business in China and East Asia.
Matthias Rebellius, member of the Managing Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure, paid tribute to the departing manager with the words: "Together with his team, he has developed our Electrical Products business into an industry benchmark and an important pillar for Siemens."
Commenting on his return, Grabmeier said: "It is a great pleasure and honor to be part of the outstanding Siemens team again."
The Electrical Products division employs around 26,000 people and operates 25 production sites worldwide. The business comprises low-voltage products and software solutions for electrical power distribution. The products are used for switching, protecting, measuring and monitoring low-voltage power supply systems, among other things.
According to the company, EP is one of the suppliers of semiconductor technologies for switching and protecting circuits. The technology enables wear-free switching and is intended to support a faster response as well as a more compact system design. Siemens sees strategic growth areas in particular in electrification, the expansion of data centers and energy transition applications.
