Participation in the start-up Aconno

Schmersal acquires a 26% stake in Aconno. The Düsseldorf-based start-up develops customer-specific hardware, Bluetooth and sensor solutions as well as software for the areas of digitalization, the Internet of Things and Industry 4.0.

In particular, Aconno offers Bluetooth chips and a development platform with which the company develops and mass produces intelligent devices and networkable objects for its customers' individual, Industry 4.0-capable applications.

Schmersal intends to accelerate its development efforts in the direction of wireless communication solutions for safety switching devices with its investment in Aconno. "The creative specialists at Aconno will support us with their expertise in making our sensors and switches Bluetooth-capable," explains Philip Schmersal, Managing Partner. "This will make it even easier for our switchgear to provide a wide range of diagnostic data in future and, as a result, contribute to higher machine availability."
