According to Kontron, embedded security is crucial for a successful IoT deployment. With this partnership, the embedded computer technology (ECT) provider aims to integrate comprehensive end-to-end security mechanisms for the lifecycle of its product portfolio and create a trusted environment for its customers. The basis for this is the all-in-one security platform CodeMeter from Wibu-Systems, which will be integrated into all new Kontron boards in the form of an ASIC, thus making the products secure against counterfeiting, reverse engineering and manipulation.

Jens Wiegand, Chief Technology Officer of Kontron on the partnership with Wibu-Systems: "Every Kontron product that is developed from now on has a security chip integrated and offers the comprehensive protection and licensing functions of CodeMeter. This will make it impossible to physically tamper with the ECT or remove the secure element without damaging the host machine; Kontron is also investing in advanced security technologies to protect our customers from external attacks."

The partnership with SQLstream, which was also announced at the embedded world trade fair, aims to jointly develop IoT applications for real-time analytics. The San Francisco, California-based company is a provider of streaming analytics solutions that capture, analyze and visualize live data from embedded devices and automate individual actions in their IoT-based device service lifecycle.
