With the MSI-MD-FB, Leuze presents a controller for the external control of muting processes. It is mounted directly on the machine and only requires one cable to the control cabinet.
The external control unit supports the multiple light beam safety devices 'MLD' and the safety light curtains 'MLC'. Three modes - 2-sensor parallel, 2-sensor sequential and 4-sensor sequential - are available. An optional muting enable signal can be used for additional protection against tampering. Selectable time-out times from 20 s to 100 h make it easier to adapt the muting processes to the application. Configuration is via DIP switches. An additional micro-USB diagnostic interface enables access to diagnostic data at any time. The IP67 plastic housing allows installation in the manufacturer's 'UDC/DC' device columns. The temperature resistance of -30 to +60 °C also supports use in deep-freeze areas.
