The Leipzig-based company Cognitix offers 'Threat Defender', a security platform that analyzes network traffic in real time and takes targeted action in the event of threats. Matthias Ochs, Managing Director of Genoa, explains that Cognitix is closing a gap in IT security within networks with its technology. Cognitix will be fully integrated into Genoa, whereby the Leipzig site will continue to operate with all employees.

The 'Threat Defender' security platform combines machine learning with up-to-date threat intelligence from numerous external sources to detect threats in networks in real time. With this technology, the security platform can react immediately to new threats and is superior to signature-based systems that work with static rules. 'Threat Defender' forms a second line of defense behind Genua's solutions, which are used at network interfaces to control data traffic and for encrypted data transmission via the Internet.

Genua develops and distributes IT security solutions for public authorities and companies: Firewalls to protect sensitive interfaces, gateways for secure cloud computing, systems for encrypted data transmission and remote maintenance of machines via the Internet, security solutions for connecting mobile users and a behavior-based network security platform. Founded in 1992, the company employs over 250 people in Kirchheim near Munich as well as in Berlin, Cologne, Stuttgart and Leipzig and has been part of the Bundesdruckerei Group since 2015.
