Inka Krischke,

Flexibility with macro technology

With the Sigmatek 'SCP 211' safety CPU, it is possible on the software side to create customized macro libraries and parameter lists for safety applications.

Safety development is carried out in Sigmatek 's 'Lasal SafetyDesigner' on the basis of certified function blocks based on PLCopen. The 'Lasal' safety macros can be structured in a multi-level hierarchy. Each macro is encapsulated in itself and can be tested independently as it has its own CRC test value. This reduces the effort required for overall tests to obtain certifications. Parameterization is carried out via a parameter list which, like the application itself, is protected. Password-protected mechanisms are used when transferring the lists for setting different equipment variants. By automating the test sequences via test programs that run in the sequence controller, the development effort for machines with many variants is reduced enormously. Together with the hot-plug capability, the parameterization of the safety controller during runtime enables flexible operation of modular machines and systems.
