The modular MGB2 Modular safety gate system offers users adaptability, a robust design and the highest safety standards. It is suitable for safeguarding access points at safety gates and fences in areas with potential hazards from machines and systems. Thanks to its modular design - consisting of a locking module, operating and display elements and optional extension modules - the MGB2 can be adapted precisely to specific customer requirements.

Particularly noteworthy is the new connection to EtherNet/IP with CIP Safety. EUCHNER is thus expanding the MGB2 portfolio with an interface that allows the system to be integrated into existing networks even more easily and efficiently. In addition to PROFINET/PROFIsafe and EtherCAT (P)/FSoE, another established fieldbus system is now available. For users, this means maximum flexibility, maximum compatibility and a safety level up to category 4 / PL e / SIL3 - even in extreme ambient temperatures down to -30 degrees Celsius. International approvals such as UL, CCC, FCC and IC also guarantee global use.

IO-Link Safety: smart communication for greater efficiency

EUCHNER is now combining its proven and robust safety components with the benefits of safe communication via IO-Link Safety. This allows users to safely transmit actuator ID and key data (SIL3 / PL e). This technology integrates the advantages of IO-Link, such as standardized communication, simple parameterization and fast diagnostics, into functional safety and enables the user to perform detailed status and fault diagnostics in real time.

The big advantage: a standardized interface for switches, guard locking devices and safety gate systems. This not only significantly reduces the planning and installation effort, but also simplifies the changeover to new coding levels. Replacing devices is also particularly user-friendly thanks to IO-Link Safety.

EKS2: Digital access control rethought

With the Electronic-Key-System EKS2, EUCHNER presents the latest generation of its digital access control. With EKS2, the user can manage access to machines and their functions easily, individually and tamper-proof. The complete system consists of an easy-to-integrate evaluation unit with PROFINET connection and a reader unit in a hygienic design with IP69 protection. In addition, there are robust EKS2 Electronic-Keys in different colors and with integrated data encryption as well as a programming station and software for writing Electronic-Key data on a standard PC. In combination with the new Electronic-Key-Manager EKM2 and the integrated database, the Electronic-Keys can be flexibly managed on the PC. The input mask for assigning user rights to the key can be individually configured in the EKM2 and adapted to the user's own application.

As a consistent further development of the tried-and-tested EKS system, the latest generation offers many advantages in terms of digital access control and operating mode selection. Templates with predefined functions and data fields reduce the programming effort for integration to a minimum. Access authorizations can be easily assigned via input masks. Current requirements such as security aspects are taken into account from the outset.

Safety services and training: Expert knowledge at first hand

In addition to technical solutions, EUCHNER offers its customers comprehensive services in the field of machine safety. With EUCHNER Safety Services, the company supports machine manufacturers and operators in the implementation of European directives and national and international standards, among other things. The services range from consulting, analysis and risk assessment to documentation and commissioning.

Another key element is the EUCHNER Academy, which regularly offers training and certification courses - including training to become a TÜV-certified expert in occupational and machine safety. Several dates are available again in the second half of 2025. EUCHNER is thus making an important contribution to the qualification of specialists in the field of functional safety.
