Certified for SIL-3 IEC 61508
The SafeTpack from Hitex for the 'Aurix' microcontroller family from Infineon has received SIL 3 IEC 61508 certification from TÜV Süd.
According to Hitex, this is the first certification for the Aurix family that enables functional safety up to SIL 3 in industrial applications. The 'SafeTpack' safety package supports the developer in safety-critical applications to meet standards such as ISO 26262 or IEC 61508. The TÜV certification process involved a rigorous testing and evaluation of the safety package, including a comprehensive analysis of its safety mechanisms and functions as well as a review of the development process. The certification confirms that it meets the highest safety standards and is suitable for use in safety-critical applications up to SIL 3.
