Cebit 2016 / Deutsche Telekom
All-round protection against cyberattacks
Deutsche Telekom is establishing its own security division and bundling all corresponding activities there. One of the first activities of this division is the cloud solution 'Internet Protect Pro', which is offered in cooperation with the US manufacturer Zscaler.
"Our customers want simple solutions. Together with Zscaler, we are freeing them from complexity and relieving them of the need to set up their own expensive infrastructure," said Dr. Ferri Abolhassan, Managing Director of the IT Division and Telekom Security at T-Systems, at a press conference at this year's Cebit. Internet Protect Pro is one of the first solutions of the Telekom Security division, which Deutsche Telekom intends to establish and in which it will bundle all of the Group's security areas.
Internet Protect Pro transfers the functions of firewalls, intrusion protection systems, proxy servers and protection against viruses and unknown malware to the Telekom Cloud. According to Abolhassan, this means that companies need less of their own hardware on site and the new solution also frees them from IT administration and configuration work in the event of new types of attacks on the network. The protective shield from the network is designed to protect against cyberattacks and data leaks and can block the execution of malicious code, cyberattacks and data theft in real time. At the same time, the solution uses "sandboxing" to analyze suspicious files by executing them in a protected environment. As a result, it also offers protection against previously unknown malicious code.
Deutsche Telekom operates the Zscaler solution in its highly secure data center in Biere. There it ensures that customer and company data cannot leave Germany. Internet Protect Pro will be available to companies for a free test phase in the second quarter of 2016. From summer 2016, the solution will be an integral part of the new Magenta Security portfolio and will be available for business customers.
