'Industrial transformation' is the guiding theme

Digitalization, individualization and climate protection - industry is in the midst of a technological transformation. Deutsche Messe is taking this as an opportunity to proclaim 'Industrial Transformation' as the key theme of Hannover Messe 2020.

Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe, on Hannover Messe 2020: "Visitors will experience the entire process from product development and production to the new data-driven business model. The close networking of production and logistics is essential for the smart factory."

"We are entering a phase of change the likes of which we have not seen for a long time," says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe, the organizer of Hannover Messe. "In this phase, Hannover Messe is more important than ever, as it is the only trade fair platform that holistically presents and continuously accompanies the industrial transformation process." Industrial customers today have different requirements and challenges than just a few years ago. Research, development, production, logistics and energy supply must adapt to the new demand behavior. Companies are faced with the challenge of actively shaping this change. Topics such as Industry 4.0, Logistics 4.0, artificial intelligence, 5G andCO2-neutral production are just as much on the agenda as lightweight construction solutions or the further development of electric drives.

Around 6000 exhibitors will be represented at the Hannover Messe 2020. "The companies from the mechanical and plant engineering sector want to show an international audience their strength as solution providers in a digitally networked production world," says Thilo Brodtmann, Managing Director of the VDMA. "This applies to the entire value chain: from material procurement, production and logistics to energy supply or new sales channels on platforms. At the same time, the companies themselves want to gather ideas for the necessary change process in their companies. Hannover Messe offers a unique meeting place for both, pointing the way to the future," says Brodtmann.
