World's largest walking robot in action
Well done, dragon!
The high-tech monster 'Tradinno' is up to mischief again in Furth im Wald: Until August 20, 2017, the masterpiece of German engineering will be fighting at Germany's oldest folk play 'Drachenstich'.
The largest four-legged walking robot in the world is listed in the Guinness Book of Records and is full of state-of-the-art electronics and terrifying special effects. The Further dragon, named 'Tradinno', is following an age-old tradition with its mighty paws: for more than 500 years, good and evil have been fighting at the dragon festival in Furth im Wald.
Under the direction of Zollner Elektronik AG, more than 20 companies and institutions joined forces to realize the high-tech monster: Hollywood's effects specialists from Magicon were involved, as were leading mechatronics and metal construction companies through to Audi and the German Aerospace Center. The face was created by designer Sikander Goldau. Overall, the mythical creature is 15.5 m long, 3.8 m wide, 4.5 m high, has a wingspan of 12 m, weighs 11 tons and has been up to mischief in this high-tech guise since 2010.
