Mobile Robots in Production
Special show for innovative production logistics
The special show 'Mobile Robots in Production' with the AGV Mesh-Up@automatica from June 27 to 30, 2023 at automatica in Munich will demonstrate what interoperable production logistics can look like.
More and more driverless transport vehicles and mobile robots are on the move in production and logistics. With the associated automation, the interoperability of devices is becoming increasingly important, with open communication interfaces such as VDA 5050 playing an important role. In logistics, VDA 5050 simplifies the connection of different vehicles to a master control system. The special show 'Mobile Robots in Production' aims to demonstrate that the communication interface also has great potential for production logistics. Visitors to the trade fair can experience a production-related scenario with the AGV Mesh-Up@automatica, which is part of the special show, in which the various vehicles are integrated into a master control system using VDA 5050.
At the demonstration area in Hall B4 Stand 338, driverless transport vehicles and mobile robots from various manufacturers will be on the same routes. In addition, the connection of mobile robots to production systems and workstations as well as the transfer of workpieces to production systems and process interlinking with mobile robots will be demonstrated. The special show offers trade fair visitors the opportunity to exchange ideas with developers, manufacturers and experts on this topic.
The special show is supported by Continental Automotive Technologies, EngRoTec - Solutions, the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML), Hahn Automation, Neura Robotics, Omron Electronics, Safelog, SEW-Eurodrive, Still and Synaos.
The AGV Mesh-Up
The AGV Mesh-Up was first initiated by the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association together with its member companies in 2021 to test the practical implementation of the VDA 5050 communication interface and share the state of the art with customer industries. 2023 marks the culmination of the previous test scenarios with the largest and most elaborate setting to date at Test Camp Intralogistics in Dortmund. Version 2.0.0 of VDA 5050, which reflects the current state of development, was used for testing.
'Mobile Robots in Production' with the AGV Mesh-Up@automatica is a joint project of the VDMA Robotics + Automation and Materials Handling and Intralogistics associations together with Messe München.
