New president elected

The Executive Board of the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) has elected Marina Bill from ABB as President. At the same time, Kenji Yamaguchi from Fanuc was appointed as the new Vice President of the IFR.

Marina Bill is Head of Global Marketing & Sales at ABB Robotics with around 11,000 employees. She has more than 25 years of experience in a range of management, sales and marketing positions across ABB's automation business. Bill has Swedish and Swiss citizenship and graduated from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm with a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering.

"Economic conditions around the world are changing at an unprecedented pace, creating historic opportunities to shape industry for the next generation. Robotics and automation are creating flexible, sustainable and efficient solutions for businesses of all sizes, while minimizing costs, strengthening resilience and benefiting society," said Marina Bill. She thanked her predecessor Milton Guerry, who took office as President of the IFR at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, for the work he had done.

Kenji Yamaguchi has served as Representative Director, President and CEO of Fanuc Corporation since April 2019. He joined the company in April 1993, started his career in industrial robot research and development and has contributed to the development of several successful models. His most important roles to date have included managing the Manufacturing Engineering Department and the Production and CNC Business Divisions. He studied at the University of Tokyo and completed his academic education with a Master's degree in the precision engineering department.
