DLRSwarm navigation system consisting of sensors, rovers and astronauts
In the Luna hall, the German Aerospace Center (DLR) has researched how payload boxes, sensors, rovers and astronauts connect to form a network. They exchange signals that can be used for communication and navigation at the same time.
The DLR Institute of Communications and Navigation has conducted an experiment in the Luna hall in which payload boxes, sensors and rovers connect to form a swarm navigation network. The network participants move around the Luna hall on regolith simulant, which is deceptively similar to the regolith on the moon. The stones are modeled on the geology of the moon. © DLR
