Ford / RoboticsAutonomous parcel delivery to the front door
The growing number of parcel deliveries is a challenge for the logistics industry. In the USA, car manufacturer Ford is working with Agility Robotics to test a new delivery option: with autonomous vehicles and the two-legged delivery robot 'Digit'.

The two-legged and headless-looking robot is the 'Digit' model from US manufacturer Agility Robotics. 'Digit' walks like a human and can climb stairs and move over uneven terrain without losing its balance. It is made of lightweight materials, which should enable long battery life. It can transport parcels weighing up to 20 kg. It does not take up much space in the delivery vehicle because it can fold itself up.
