The growing number of parcel deliveries is a challenge for the logistics industry. In the USA, car manufacturer Ford is working with Agility Robotics to test a new delivery option: with autonomous vehicles and the two-legged delivery robot 'Digit'.

The car manufacturer Ford is combining two technologies for the new logistics solution: an autonomous car that not only transports the goods, but also creates a detailed map of the surroundings using LiDAR and stereo cameras, and a delivery robot. The latter uses the map to bring parcels the last few meters to the front door.
